After fleeing communist Cuba with his family as a young child, Mr. Ferrer grew to become the host of America\u2019s successful, nationally syndicated TV court show \u201cJudge Alex.\u201d Along the way, he was the youngest police officer in Miami, an accomplished trial attorney and the youngest Circuit Court Judge in the United States\u2019 4th largest court system. He is a frequent legal expert on Fox News, CNN, Headline News, MSNBC and many other networks.<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]For his legal education, he attended the University of Miami School of Law where he became a published member of the Law Review. Over his career, Mr. Ferrer’s practice has generally consisted of civil litigation in the areas of personal injury, admiralty and commercial law. He has represented everyone from individual plaintiffs, insurance companies, leasing companies, self-insured national corporations, international and multinational companies, agencies of the State of Florida, banks and other businesses in general commercial litigation, fraud claims, whistleblower cases, debt related issues, real property matters, maritime, contract disputes, and cases involving wrongful death, as well as medical malpractice, and general personal injury matters, some with complex issues of foreign law, both substantive and procedural. These cases included multi-million dollar claims against some of the most prestigious law firms and attorneys in Florida.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Former Judge” tab_id=”1637120516817-bbbc9e38-b2db”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

In 1995, Mr. Ferrer became the youngest Circuit Court Judge in Florida’s 11th Judicial Circuit and handled thousands of cases and hundreds of trials in the 10 years that followed. His commercial and general civil legal experience expanded to include non-business family law issues of child custody and support, distribution of property, general financial matters, adoptions and disputes over paternity. His prior law enforcement experience as a police officer in South Florida was expanded by the hundreds of criminal court cases he tried to verdict, ranging from drug possession and trespassing to murder, sexual battery and kidnapping.<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]After 10 years on the bench, Judge Ferrer was being considered for a vacancy on Miami\u2019s prestigious Third District Court of Appeals. Out of 60 well-respected judges and lawyers, he was the only applicant to have been unanimously recommended to Florida\u2019s Governor by the Judicial Nominating Commission. Choosing instead to pursue a television opportunity, Judge Ferrer withdrew his name from the Governor\u2019s consideration and began resolving disputes on his nationally syndicated, televised courtroom show: \u201cJudge Alex,\u201d which aired across the US for 9 seasons. In 2008 he was named the \u201cMost Trustworthy Daytime Television Host,\u201d beating out such household names as Oprah, Ellen, Regis and Dr. Phil, quite an accomplishment for any attorney.<\/p>\n
